Houston went over by $1.4M
This confirms their compensation pick from Framber Valdez leaving will be after the 4th round. Also they pay a higher penalty if they sign a free agent with a qualifying offer.
This is where I don't understand the Astros. Either stay under it so you don't take the hit or ignore the limit. Going over by 1.4MM? That's like a mistake like you didn't know how close you were.

Dodgers paid $169 million in luxury tax. But yeah, all is fair.

I doubt he has that much pull. Plus they desperately need hittingAg4life80 said:
On the Burrows deal, I find it interesting that Miller let him go if he's all that. He's bound to have had pitching data on the Pirates before taking that job.

Astros legend Niko Goodrum is retiring. Much love for the WS championship ring in his post.

I hope tjack had a good time, despite the outcome. No way would I waste money and time watching our football team in a big game. It's like everyone on the planet knows a slider is coming, just as we know Diaz will whiff on it.

Had fun and hope that we would do what we did in south bend there at the end. Then left pissed off and spent an hour getting out of the parking garage
In no world did I think we would win the national championship, but I did think we'd at least win this home game. I thought we would win today and then get beat by Ohio State

When does spring training start? It's going to be a long 3-4 months. I guess we have the Texans though.

Trade Parades and prospects for Durran. Fixes our INF logjam and gives us a star CFer.

I'm not sure we have any prospects left to do that and I'm not sure that either GM would have the guts to pull that trigger but that's a very interesting trade. Paredes and that wall are a match made in heaven.

Unfortunately it's also a match made in heaven for us too.
I can't see us giving up Parades for a weaker hitter, but Durran has another year of control.
Blackburn deal: $2M guaranteed plus 100k for each of 80, 90, 100, 110, 120 IP. $2.5M possible https://t.co/9pXPXKX1Pl

Durran isn't exactly a weak hitter. 121 wRC+ over the last 3 seasons. Great baserunner too.
