High AAV on short term deal to hit FA again at 27. Betting on himself. Let's see how it works out.

Why would the White Sox do that? They arent gonna make a run at the playoffs or anything. And not like you're gonna trade him for anything if he performs because it's only a 2 year deal. I'm perplexed on what they're doing.

Try and get the ohtani effect to get butts in seats

Dana needs to put a stop to this, coming off that kind of injury he should not be playing winter ball

Poor guy

I can't wait to see how this guy performs, I think he struck out in something ridiculous like 35% of his AB's over 23 and 24 seasons; in a very low strikeout league.

Dude might strike out 300 times next season

Why wouldn't they trade him? People buy rentals yearly.

They need to meet a minimum to avoid a grievance & participate to revenue sharing.

Dana has become a master at contradicting himself. First were gonna go for bullpen help. Not a minute later, we're happy with our bullpen and feel it's locked in

Dana not putting a stop to Parades playing winter ball may be risky. If he gets hurt again it diminishes his trade value if they're thinking about trading him.

I hope tjack had a good time, despite the outcome. No way would I waste money and time watching our football team in a big game. It's like everyone on the planet knows a slider is coming, just as we know Diaz will whiff on it.

Had fun and hope that we would do what we did in south bend there at the end. Then left pissed off and spent an hour getting out of the parking garage

In no world did I think we would win the national championship, but I did think we'd at least win this home game. I thought we would win today and then get beat by Ohio State

Ah my young Padawan. Much to learn you have.

Seriously though. 43 years of watching this kind of wears thin. I've given up all hope that Aggie FB will ever sniff a trophy.

50 for me. (I'm a local) First Aggie game was Tony Franklin kicking the extra points out of the north end zone horseshoe barefoot.

Fish year at TAMU: Greg Hill fumbling the ball into the end zone showboating at the cotton bowl.

Lots of heartbreak. We always manage to "Aggie it"

Stop taking what he says literally.

Anything any GM says into a mic is just GM speak.

And as far Isaac playing winter ball I say if he's healthy and medically cleared let him get the reps in there and show up to ST ready to rock and roll.

that seems to preclude any Paredes to BOS talks now. is Donovan still on the table from STL...would that be a pivot point? I doubt they would take Walker over Paredes without some major cash changing hands.

They still need a 3B and someone can DH but it decreases the need for sure

Also St Louis got the pitching they need, and if we were ever gonna trade for Donovan, that was likely a good chunk of what we'd have to give up.

Gordon will pitch 100 innings when 3 guys on that list go out for the season with "elbow discomfort"

Surprised Blubaugh isn't listed as a potential rotation starter. Thought he was impressive.

Well, color me concerned.
  • We know Blanco and Wesneski are likely out for most or all of next season.
  • Walker is already done for the year.
  • Dana has 17 million reasons to give McCullers every opportunity to show some value.
  • Javier and Arrighetti are returning from injuries.
  • Burrows is a rookie.
  • Weiss is a reclamation project from Korea.
  • JP France is still around somewhere.
  • Costanza pitched well over his history for half a season.
If Dana's 2026 rotation plan were a band, he should name it Hunter and the High Hopes.

Is Walter having TJ and I missed it?

Didn't he have surgery late in the season? Maybe I'm wrong on that.

Yes he had it towards the end of the year

Basically it's Hunter Brown and four #4 starters unless Javier makes a jump like he did in 2022

We better hope Hunter stays fully healthy the entire season

They're still very active in the market for a #2 starter.

Ok, when I looked at the "news" link on his ESPN page, the last news story was him going on the 15 day IL and he expected to be back quickly. I missed that he already had surgery.

Is there any chance of Framber coming back? Heard they were still talking a dew days ago. Wonder if his demand has dried up and he's willing to do a hometeam discount

I like how quickly we're writing the narrative without knowing more info. We all thought Kikuchi was a back end pitcher until he performed like an ace in our pitching lab. He probably made an extra 30 M thanks to us.

Burrows is someone we targeted because the lab thinks his potential Is high.

Weiss is another. They see value and talent. Let's wait a minute before we immediately write him off.

I think it's fair to give Javier a shot too. He's basically recreated himself plus year 2 after TJ is usually when the pitcher is fully back.

I would love to have a co-ace to lock in next to Brown, but just because we don't yet doesn't mean SP will not be a strength. Even with the insane amount of injuries last season we still had a top 1/3 of the league rotation.

He's one of their front line starters and he can only get 4 tickets for the games he pitches?

It's really unfortunate because the system rewards resigning your guys over signing someone else. Saurez as an example is similar but will cost us two picks compared to gaining only one for Framber.

No one else wants to deal with it either.

Maybe I have been spoiled by our lab's performance so far, but I just am not worried about our starting pitching. We have enough guys that have shown flashes that I trust them to pull together 5-6 quality starters out of that group. I am far more worried about our offense and disappointed that it does not seem to be an emphasis for Dana at all in the trade talks.

We managed to have stellar pitching that kept us in front for the first half of 2025 despite our lack of offense, but when the pitching started to break down after the ASB, our offense was not able to step up and outscore anybody. 2 runs against us in the first 3 innings meant it was time to change the channel because we were not going to overcome that most nights. When 2 runs early feels insurmountable, pitching ain't the problem.

Getting Yordan back healthy will help, but without guys around him to keep the pitchers honest, they will just pitch around him. We need at least one more quality LH bat to make teams think twice about pitching us RHP 3 games straight every series. Dana's only non-pitching interest seems to be a backup catcher but we need more than that, and we have already seen that it isn't likely to come up from the farm system.
