Depending on who is projecting, we are $15-25M under the tax threshold. If that is indeed our self imposed cap then we may have to move someone else to get Santander.mAgnoliAg said:
Am I missing something on Santander? Looks like an absolute steal for money that's been talked about. Why are we not more involved?
I'm hoping Isaac Paredes will do this over and over to the Crawford Boxes pic.twitter.com/IkV7ercS59

This is Hayden Wesneski. He has absolutely disgusting movement on his pitches. He's an Astro now @PitchingNinja 📹 pic.twitter.com/geYjOHeTv2

I appreciate the Cubs fans in the comments who have provided some insight.

His fastball apparently needs some work, but to me pitch selection and emphasis on location can help. Astros have a history of making pitchers better who join the club. https://t.co/tmtF32twh1
Here are the Astros top 5 best prospects after the Tucker trade.

Cam Smith to the top at #1.
Smith and Melton are both in the top 100 pic.twitter.com/TIStRfpvok
I'm at a 7. We're going to miss his left handed bat, his base stealing, and his ability to battle the best pitchers in the game.Big Bucks said:

On a scale of 1-10 hurting as an Astros fan (10 the worst):
Springer 10
Correa 8
Tucker 3
Have to say this is about right for me as well. Yuli hurt me more than Tucker.
Melton, Smith, and Matthews could make that 2026 roster nasty with the money we will have available.EastCoastAgNc said:Here are the Astros top 5 best prospects after the Tucker trade.

My favorite Tucker moment was the 2021 ALCS game 6 homerun he hit in the 8th inning. Being at the park that night was awesome because that homerun sealed the pennant and those last 3 Boston outs after that were so stress free.
It's also the only time I've seen us win the AL or WS in person. (Missed 2019 ALCS G6 due to Aggie football road trip to ole Miss)
Important to note that Nolan Arenado has a full no-trade clause and can dictate where he goes. It's currently unclear whether he'd waive it to join Houston. Also, the Astros will ask the Cardinals to help pay down some of Arenado's $74 million across the next three years https://t.co/MWrqLdFaYz

We better not do something stupid like trade Cam Smith for him. If you trade peanuts and Cards are eating half that I will hold my nose and stomach it.EastCoastAgNc said:Important to note that Nolan Arenado has a full no-trade clause and can dictate where he goes. To me this reeks of Crane chasing names again.

So the master plan is: trade for Arenado and try to sign Santander.
2B Altuve
DH Yordan
1B Parades
LF Santander
C Diaz
3B Arenado
SS Pena
CF Meyers
RF Chas
That doesn't look good to me.
The A's are finalizing a trade to acquire left-hander Jeffrey Springs from the Tampa Bay Rays, sources tell ESPN. Multiple players are going in both directions, but with the A's looking to spend, they get a rotation piece in Springs under club control for three more seasons.
