Maybe, you know, allow the pitchers more than a couple breaths in between pitches? This trend predates the pitch clock, certainly, but everyone could see the exacerbating effect it would have on the arm before it was even implemented. ****ing Manfred.
The pitch clock is an easy scape goat. Sure, it maybe has some impact, but the reality is guys are trying to throw as hard as they can because it induces strikeouts. They are getting PAID for it.
I don't like Manfred as much as the next guy, but pitchers are pushing their absolute limits because it gets them paid. They are purposefully taking the risk. If they are going to get Max Fried contracts for throwing as hard as they can, they are going to continue to do it regardless of the pitch clock.
As much as I hated the idea of the pitch clock when it came out, I'm 100% for it. To go back on the pitch clock would be a mistake now, in my opinion.
It's also up to the players to protect themselves as well.
The below + whiffs increasing as spin rate increases + getting PAID for those results = elbow injuries.

If I'm a GM, I would be betting that every starter I have will need a TJ if they pitch for my club over a 5 year window.
If you sign a FA for 6 years, expect them to pitch for 4 and be out for 2. Anything more than that is a gift from the baseball gods.

I was at Wrigley last year and yelled over to Hayden while he was long tossing in the outfield. Something about go Bobcats or something, referring to Cy-Fair. Got a little smile and tip of the hat. He has been a good depth arm but just hasn't quite found his footing yet.txags11 said:

Yes, Paredes to 1B and Bergman 3B is a possibility. But I think money could be smarter spend in the OF now since Smith is a 3B.
That's fair..If Smith is ready then you def move on from Bregman and go get a Profar or something like that
