If you keep Cam on the roster you can't platoon him. He needs every day ABs or you're just killing his development.
I agree. I guess it will boil down to who they want to get more AB's. Him or ZD.texasaggie2015 said:

some wet-blanketry that's been earned by the franchise over the years. If it helps the team this year though, I'm guessing most would say it's worth it. He won't be any easier to sign to an extension than most potential stars.Shifting away from stealing an extra year of club control is bad business, especially when you're a team that refuses to extend your own guys, but it's great news for the Dodgers, Mets, Yankees, and other big spenders. They'll get their shot at Cam Smith a year earlier now https://t.co/h2al1SCIZ0

Personally though it seems like inversely it could make an extension more palatable since the team would be putting him out there and not screwing around with his service time.

Is Melton hurt? Surprised he isn't on the Space Cowboys lineup tonight.
Ya F that. I don't think I care if we don't have Cam Smith in 2031. So much can change by then. I know for a fact we have nobody with his potential NOW.linkdude said:some wet-blanketry that's been earned by the franchise over the years. I think it is more likely he is the key piece in a big trade for somebody's best prospects and draft picks in a few years as the start of the bigger rebuild.linkdude said:some wet-blanketry that's been earned by the franchise over the years. Division Finish: 1st
Playoffs: we win it all, continuing the golden era.
Team MVP: Yanier with a monster year
Team ROY: Cam puts up crazy numbers
1-3 Bold Predictions (Positive):
1) Rodgers takes over 2nd and plays gold glove defense. With some tweaks the data nerds uncover he also has a career year at the plate
2) Yordan is healthy for the full season and puts up monster numbers
3) Dana works his magic at the trade deadline and grabs us a top shelf left handed hitting OF for Chaz and Cintron
1-3 Bold Predictions (Negative):
1). Our starting pitching continues to deal with injuries and we have to lean on unproven starters for a significant number of starts.
2) We have to replace our medical team due to on-going questionable diagnoses of "discomfort"
3) Forest Whitley gets injured again and retires

With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of our youngest son, Miller. He was 14 years old and has left us far too soon after falling ill along with several other family members while on vacation. We have so many… pic.twitter.com/lBCBVmKGUe
This is awful. It's not the way of the world that parents should have to bury their children. T&P to his family.
Ryan Gusto will open the season in the Astros bullpen. Joe Espada said he told Gusto after his outing tonight that he’ll fill the last bullpen spot.
