Still no decisions on the Astros' final three position player spots. Joe Espada said they will take it down to the wire, not finalizing anything until Wednesday. Cooper Hummel, Zack Short, Zach Dezenzo, Brendan Rodgers and Cam Smith are all still in contention

Well I went overboard with my homerism in yesterday's fantasy baseball draft and got Diaz, Pena, and Paredes. So apologies if they are all terrible.
My usually reliable Astros' guy says he thinks the'y'll send Cam Smith down at first solely for the service #s like they did Pence and Springer once upon a time.

Makes sense, though I would say it's a little different than Springer. George was already 24 and that team was terrible so no one was blocking him. Cam is still only 22, is learning a new position and hasn't played above AA. He's also not on the 40 man.The Original Houston 1836 said:

I'm a little worried about the bottom of the rotation. Spaghetti, Blanco and Wesneski have all had issues this spring, especially with walks.

I think Arighetti will be a solid 4/5 level starter and Blanco will basically be what Urquidy was (5+ innings consistently with about 2-3 earned runs per start). Wesneski I have no idea about.
I'm more worried about depending too much on guys coming back from major injuries to be what they used to be

Offensively, it would be great. Defensively they would be breaking in two guys at the corner outfield spots who have 0 professional starts at that position.
The Bowden report seems like speculation.
Singleton being reassigned/released means Dezenzo made the squad.
It is probably Cam Smith vs Cooper Hummel for that last spot. If they go Cam, we are have to be the most RHH team in the league.

I'm really not a fan of rushing Cam but we shall see.
It seems a little reckless. why not bring him along a bit more slowly.
If he hits anything close to the way he did in ST we are in for some fun. I could easily see him get overwhelmed/overmatched in the early going.
