Trying to look at our remaining schedule.
Our next 18 games, our opponents average 62 wins & 49 losses for a .558 winning % (easiest opponent is Pittsburgh who are currently 56-55)
From Aug 27th onwards (31 games) our opponents average 51 wins & 60 losses for a .459 winning % (easiest opponent is CWS, hardest are 3 with the Yankees and then 2 with the Diamondbacks).
Games left vs teams with winning record:
6 vs NYY
3 vs Boston
3 vs Cleveland
4 vs Minnesota
2 vs Houston
2 vs Arizona
3 vs Pittsburgh
7 vs Seattle
vs teams with losing record (all of which occur in the final 31 games):
3 vs CWS
7 vs LAA
6 vs Oakland
3 vs Toronto
Around this time last year we began our big August swoon where we lost 16 of 20. If over these next 18 games we can get our record to be 65-66 (11-7), we could be set up with a very winnable schedule over the last 30 to make a run at the division. Barring Houston or Seattle going off. 11-7 vs that schedule is going to be really tough.
Seattle's next 18 games or so is pretty tough except for 6 vs Detroit. They have 3 vs NYM, 3 vs Pitt, 3 vs LAD, 3 vs SF, 3 vs TB.
Houston's next 18 games or so is much tougher (outside of 3 vs CWS). They have 6 vs Boston, 3 vs TB, 4 vs Baltimore, 3 vs Philly. And Boston for 3 and CWS for 3 are the only home games in that stretch. (Then they go to KC for a 4 game stretch).
