They can't and won't, but it is a major issue that you only solve through bringing in guys who can actually hit a fastball. They have way too many guys who can't touch middle middle fastballs.

I'm good with LeClerc. He's been really good the past couple months

I haven't really dug into it but Lowe seemed to be the only one I remember struggling against fastballs last season.

I was wondering about that the other day. Is it that the guys they have assembled are all bad at it, or is it something with the current hitting coach and/or the offensive philosophy. Asking because I legitimately do not know. It just seems like it would be hard to accidentally have a lineup full of guys who just physically can't do it.

Really would be nice to see Langford at least put the barrel on one here before the break

Just my personal opinion, but it's slightly more skill than philosophy/mechanics etc. You can either recognize and get to a high fastball or you can't. Lowe has always been dreadful against high fastballs, followed by Garcia and Heim also historically not being great against them. Tack on that Leody is just average or slightly below across the board as a hitter, and that's four guys in your lineup that probably aren't doing much against that pitch. Additionally, Jung has not been great against high fastballs in his career so far, but he's got time/chances to improve.

Idk how many times Boch needs to see it but LeClerc can not go more than 1 inning. It's just insane he keeps trying it
