This ump is terrible on that outside pitch in the LH batters box. He's missed it for both teams, but I think moreso against the Ranger batters.

Man if we could get division / wildcard deficit down to 4 or less by the all star break, CY might try to contend.

Orioles might sweep the mariners tomorrow. We need to win series or sweep teams. We really need a damn win tomorrow.

The mariners simple DO NOT HIT THE BALL. Pitching can only take you so far in the regular season. You've got to be able to score runs. The Mariners are dead last in the MLB in quite a few offensive categories.

Jon Gray is too unreliable and doesn't go deep enough into games. When Mahle comes back Gray needs to be the one to the pen. He was dominant there last postseason.

Gray's last 5 games: 21 IP, 21 ER and that with a 6 shutout inning performance in the middle of all that.

I'd just trade him. He's the one guy on your staff that isn't a true rental, has had stretches of really great but also really bad baseball, and a playoff team might actually be willing to give up a few guys to get him and his versatility. Heaney, Lorenzen and what not just won't bring as much imo.

We got rid of a top 100 prospect for a bullpen rental last season. I think we could get a decent haul for Lorenzen, scherzer, Yates, Robertson. Nothing amazing but certainly a couple of nice prospects. Just my opinion.

Edit: It's also a sellers market this year. Sellers will be able to get a little more than usual this season.

Yeah I'm not saying those guys are worthless by any means. I just think Gray would be able to fetch a little more because he's still under contract on a reasonable number in today's market.

ETA: I think Jon Gray is a pretty good pitcher. He's just inconsistent for some reason. I do hope we are sellers to some degree though.

Seattle has pretty good SP, but it isn't going to help them the way it is structured.

Their ERA is good... their benefit is they go about 1.0 IP/GS more than other teams and 1-5 are consistent. They are built for the Refular Season, not the Playoffs.

Their ERA isn't substantially better than Texas' despite the guys we've cycled.
