I've been quiet on the thread this year... but holy sheet was I disappointed when we brought Grossman back. Clearly has nudes of Bochy or something to keep getting run out there to suck like he does.

Last year's lineups with Grossman batting 3rd about gave me a brain aneurism, and somehow, after getting rid of this joker in the off season we trade to bring him back to put up more negative WAR for us. WTF

The move looks even worse now that we brought up Derek Hill (who was raking at AAA) and he has given us more in a couple of games than Grossman has in 2 years.

I have less of an issue with bad/wrong takes than I do with the ones that are offered as absolutes or facts. I try (not consistently I admit) to include language of the "just my opinion" sort.
By way of example, "maybe Langford should go back to AAA" might be a reasonable take early on. "Langford needs to be sent down" opens you up for more scrutiny later. And as always, that's just my opinion

I will wholeheartedly and on the record agree with you.

Not to derail too much, but Jordan Montgomery is also in the WS hangover group. Just hit the IL with knee inflammation and has a 6.44 ERA in 13 starts.

I don't want this team to sell, but if we're sitting here on 31 July 10 games out of the division and wild card, you'd have to think we'd take calls on Robertson and Yates, and given the right package Eovaldi would have to at least be discussed.

As far as position players they might listen on Garcia if the take back is a young outfielder.

Good thing with Evo and Bombi is that they dominated in the playoffs last year, so someone might overpay for them thinking they will get the same performance out of them.

BUT, as stated I don't want to sell, keeping everyone and running it back next year while fully healthy seems like the most logical thing to do.

Normally people say "just win series" and I'm inclined to agree, but we need to make up ground quickly and change the complexion or outlook of this thing. We need to sweep some teams.

Eovaldi is 76.0 IP from his 2025 option vesting. He is averaging just a tick below 6.0 IP/GS. He is 13 +/- GS from vesting. Good chance he makes it.

I don't think it will happen, but if it did... selling likely would go:

Lorenzen: 14GS, 3.40 ERA, 82.0 IP. Cheap. Concern would be that last year he appeared to run out of gas. Could be a concern. <- ERA is 18th if Qualified with 3.0 more IP.

Yates: 28G, 0.95 ERA, 11 Saves
Urena: 20G, 6GS, 2.83, 63.2 IP
Robertson: 33G, 3.34 ERA, 35.0 IP

Scherzer: Would he be willing to be traded?!
Heaney: 16GS, 4.04 ERA, 84.2 IP <- With 1 more out, he'd be Qualifed and 28th in AL

As is... rotation 2025 looks like:
deGrom
Mahle
Dunning
Gray
Bradford
+Eovaldi if he qualifies.

I think Lorenzen (wants multi-year deal) and Scherzer (loves NY, but has 2 young kids and may want to be settled in NorthTexas) could be brought back... as could Heaney (aging).

7 games vs SEA in the last two weeks of the season makes it tough to sell (right now)

Boras took a massive hit this year. Going to be hard to convince teams that the boras spring training is just as good as regular spring training when his own clients are saying the opposite. Wonder how that impacts negotiations after spring training has started for pitchers.

Did we already return the favor to Tampa? I love Arozarena but he needs to take one off the knee. Losing a player for 3 months is hard to overcome.

Here was White's line: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2BB, 5 SO, so take Mahle's outing for what it is worth.
