A little perspective regarding Walcott (hopefully to prevent any posts saying he's a bust). Walcott turned 18 during spring training. He's not only the youngest player in high A, he's younger than most of the players in low A. The Rangers made a decision to really challenge him this season at a higher level than he's probably ready for, so I don't think him struggling is unexpected. Granted, he's doing a lot worse than everyone had hoped, but it's just important to remember how young he is and how little he's actually played.
I don't have the details (and not chasing it down), but I recall seeing reports the first week or so of the season that Walcott was horrid, with a huge number of strikeouts. But now he seems to be turning it around and doing better. Looks like his average is almost up to .200, but he had to dig himself out of a big hole.
Saw something on Porter (twitter or somewhere) a few days ago, his overall strike percentage is under 50%. So something must be up with his mechanics, or he is working on a new pitch, or something. I don't think he forgot how to pitch, so I would expect him to turn that around.
