It's good to see them swinging the bat. I wish and hope Langford and Carter really get going, because when they are driving gaps they are still so dangerous because of their speed.

Probably doesn't mean much to anyone but the 2 guys that can forever say they blasted a HR off HoF Max Scherzer. If I were them, I'd get him to autograph it and use it to get free beer everywhere I went.

Good win. Had to get at least 1 against Seattle and we probably won't be favored tomorrow with it being heaney's turn in the rotation.
Missing Seager for a few days to the contusion could be a blessing in disguise, the guy isn't hitting right now anyway.

Losing that game where they threw the Triple A pitcher and he gave up 5 runs in under 1 inning of work was inexcusable.

On a different topic, it was a little tough seeing Gray strike out Haniger then get pulled for Hernandez and not get the win, but 2-2 off Gray was too much I guess.
Hernandez hit 97 and 98 on the fastball last night.
Hickory Crawdads Update:
I'll preface this one by saying that some experts and consistent followers of minor league baseball thought Hickory would be one of the five to ten best/most talented minor league teams coming into this season, right up there with the AAA Norfolk Tide (Orioles wagon of a AAA team), however, it has been FAR from that to start the seaosn.
Hickory is 6-10 on the year with a -34 run differential and 5-5 in their last ten. To begin, they have been flat out awful on the mound outside of Winston Santos (stud, and more on him later) and D.J. McCarty (who I have no clue who he is). Mitch Bratt has been bad, giving up a whopping 10 earned runs, 15 hits and three bombs in 13.1 innings pitched. Somehow, Aiden Curry has actually been worse, giving up nine earned runs, 14 hits and three bombs in 11 innings pitched. And last but not least Brock Porter has been the worst of the bunch, having given up six earned runs on only four hits, which subsequently means he's got 13 walks to only eight strikeouts and four hit batsman in 8.1 innings pitched.
The only saving grace has been Winston Santos, who has been AWESOME. He's sporting an 0.57 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, .161 opponents BA, and all to the tune of 24 strikeouts to only four walks. He might be the best pitching prospect in the system at the moment (either he or Dane Acker).
The hitting side of things has somehow been maybe worse, which is shocking. Of the top nine at-bat getters so-to-speak, their average is a RIDCULOUS 0.192. 0.192! Sebastian Walott is batting 0.182 and an OPS of 0.517; Anthony Gutierrez is batting .241 with an OPS of 0.601; Yeison Morrobel is batting 0.173 with an OPS of 0.526; and I could go on and on.
I am sure it will pick up a bit, as most of these guys are kids around 18-22 years old and being consistent is maybe what all young men deal with, but woof has it been a brutal start to the season for Hickory; a team that on paper coming into this season a lot of people thought would be one of the better minor league teams regardless of division or classification.

A little perspective regarding Walcott (hopefully to prevent any posts saying he's a bust). Walcott turned 18 during spring training. He's not only the youngest player in high A, he's younger than most of the players in low A. The Rangers made a decision to really challenge him this season at a higher level than he's probably ready for, so I don't think him struggling is unexpected. Granted, he's doing a lot worse than everyone had hoped, but it's just important to remember how young he is and how little he's actually played.
