With that single by Heim, every Rangers starter has a hit.

Unforunately, nobody has 2 hits.

You have to think one of Anderson/ Rodriguez will be gone to AAA when Lorenzen gets activated to start tomorrow night.

No more screwing around with proven failed relievers. Get rid of all of them and call up the young guys. Hard to come back in ballgames when the deficit goes from 3 to 6 run every time Burke, Yerry, Pruitt, Anderson take the mound.

Thankfully angels decided to take the weekend off too

I don't see anyone running away with this division. Should have enough time to figure out the bullpen and get healthy to make a run in the 2nd half.

Get 3 out of 4 in Detroit, before the weekend series against Atlanta and we'll be in good shape. Desperately need 1 of Gray/ Heaney to get their head out of their ass and make a quality start.

3 out of 4 would be great. But Detroit is playing better this year, they are 9-6. Not sure who all they have played, but they are off to a good start. Cleveland/KC/Detroit are all actually good start in the Central, we will see if they can maintain that over the course of the season.

Good. Walsh seems to be slumping, after a pretty solid start. So Lowe getting closer to game ready would be a good thing.

**for the podcast people, Straight Up Texas, that Lowe and Sandler just put out their second one for this season a three days ago or so. I am new to this one as of this season, but I've been pretty impressed. Lowe is pretty good. The last episode he talks about Home Runs and the physics of hitting the ball for part of the time (which relates to the post above). He also gives his take on the MLB injury plague. Few other topics I'm not remembering, but overall it is a good segment, worth a listen if you have 30 minutes or so.

Yea they're 9-6 but they've played the White Sox, Mets, A's, Twins and Pirates. We should at minimum split.

Would be nice for 3 out of 4 in DET, but with this pitching staff and the inconsistency on offense, feel like that is a stretch right now.

I think Gray has pitched pretty well, Heaney not so much. Also feel like Gray has not gotten much run support, which I seem to remember was a common theme for a number of his starts last season.

This team is one of five in the league who have only 1 save on the season so far. The Rangers aren't losing games late as opposed to last year, they're getting behind a lot earlier, while continuing to suffer the inability to get the lead back when trailing by more than a few runs.

Five of 10 relievers who are active today are sporting an era of more than 10.00. That is AWFUL!!!

I was pretty encouraged with Grays last start, we'll see if he can continue to build on it.

We haven't played the best. Yet still in first place. Time to go win the series in Detroit.

Detroit shouldn't scare anyone. Their lineup isn't very good. We should be able to outslug them and win a few games, then again I thought the same thing vs the A's.

We definitely need 3 out of 4 against the tigers.

I think we need to hunker down and try to be a .500 ball club for the next bit. I just don't see anywhere near enough pitching, and on top of that entirely too many injuries, to hold us to a "we need to win 3/4 in this next series" type of mentality. Jeff Wilson (Rangers Today) wrote a short article that Cole Winn was the fourth player to make their MLB DEBUT this season for the Rangers, and we are JUST NOW at Jackie Robinson day. We are also in a brutal stretch with quite literally zero off days. So just hunker down and grind out wins and try to stay at or around .500. We'll find dudes to help us on the mound (whether coming back from injuries or elsewhere), and guys will get going at the plate, but let just stay afloat for a bit.

Edit to add: I hate the "stay afloat" moniker, but it's a real strategy and no more prevalent/utilized than in baseball. 162 is a ton of games.

The season is very very young. Need to tread water and once pitching gets healthy we will be fine.

6 weeks until Jung comes back as well.

I think the Jung injury is sneaky one of the biggest in baseball. He was going to be camped in the 3/4-hole all season and I feel have a big year, but bum-ass Maton can't control his stuff and boom, done for eight weeks. Still pisses me off.

How about the "next man up?!"

Langford
Foscue
Wendzel
Winn

And we'll see a few more: Kelly (24), Church (23), Coniell (21) are all on the 40. I'd expect to see Kelly and Church at some point.

Leiter was mentioned above... I think we'll see him at some point, but would require a move on the 40. Burke to the 60?!

I think Pruitt will get a few more Innings before we do anything with him. Hernandez has to be close.

And Lowe will be back, as well.

Just wish Langford would start hitting extra base hits. He's not the reason we're losing, just want him to live up to the hype and get RoY. Feels like we should've got one of the last few, but some weird **** always happens and we lose out on it.

It is next man up, but there is just sooooo much unproven from all that you listed. At least it gives us something to follow!
Grapesoda2525
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Rodriguez, Anderson, and Burke definitely aren't it. I can't fault the team for trying to horde arms at the start of the season, but those guys can't be trusted / won't help us.

I'll honestly be surprised if Burke isn't DFA'd after he heals up. Seems Bochy isn't a fan and has about run out of patience with him.

Carter has a shot at ROY as well.
