And this was our #5 SP who just got bumped to the BP as soon as the guy we brought in is ready.

Doesn't look like Bradford is ready to lose his rotation spot.

Yankees should be better depending on the health of Judge and Soto. That being said, it's pretty funny to watch Houston's bullpen blow 3 games in a row. Especially after their fans bragged about said bullpen all offseason.

I'm skeptical. Better record? Maybe. Better talent?! We'll see.

Here is their rotation without Cole:
Stroman (32): 25GS, 3.95, 136.2 IP
Rodon (30-L): 14GS, 6.85, 64.1 IP
Cortes (28-L): 12GS, 4.97, 63.1 IP
Schmidt (27): 32GS, 4.64, 159.0 IP

#5 replacement for Cole:
Gil (25): DNP in '23 for Yankees
Career: 7GS, 3.78, 33.1, 43 SO, 1.380 WHIP in MLB

They just picked up a SP on the 60IL that projects to come back from TJ right after the ASB.

Mathieu starts the season on the IL.
Judge is 32 and Stanton 34. Both are huge aging injury risks.

Just not convinced they'll be that good. Sure, Soto, Judge, and Stanton can put up monster numbers. One of the best 1-2-3, apparently.

The only run the bullpen has given up in these two games (8 innings total, I believe) is the weird Heim play from last night. A runner started on second base in one of those innings.

Promising development.

Was just coming here to post this. His only mistake was to Loperfido, one of the Astros top prospects, who almost made the their OD roster and should be up with them in the near future. Very, very encouraging for Jack.

Astros already saying they need to fire the hitting coaches and espada won't last as a manager. These guys get really unhinged after 3 regular season games.

I think if the cubs came in here and cleaned our clocks, swept us, we would say that sucks but it's a long season let's keep it rolling. These astro fans are freaking out way too early.
