The first 3 series have been really cut throat / competitive with playoff caliber teams. The A's should give us a break the next few days, but the early schedule is pretty brutal.

Wood is 33 and on the downside of his career... we better light him up tonight.

Seager with an off-day... Smith getting rewarded with the hot bat hitting 2nd.

Wendzel making his debut for Texas playing 3B.

Duran at 1B putting Lefty Walsh on the bench.

I don't like the injuries, but these are the times to see what we have with some of these prospects. Leading the division and playing a sub-talented team.

Alex Wood is in his 14th year in The Show.

He's been pretty bad the last 5 years or so, since leaving LAD.

Gettin' $8.5 MM from the A's this year. Livin' the dream.

Right but I think I'd have preferred to let Seager sit against a righty. At least give Smith and Carter a chance to make up for his production. They'll probably go out and score 10 runs but, wow does that line up have some huge holes.

I'm getting really tired of reading this crap.

Evan Carter played a little more than two minor league seasons before he got called up. He also missed virtually his entire senior year of HS because of covid shutdowns. He's 21 years old and won't turn 22 until late August.

And yet somehow we know he can't hit lefties. Guess what - he hasn't faced a lot of them yet. He's too complete a hitter to not eventually figure it out, and he's not going to learn to hit lefties until he plays against them.

Good lord some of you get in such a hurry to give up on young players. If he wasn't so freaking talented, he wouldn't be in the majors at all, he'd still be figuring it out in the minors. I can promise you that the Rangers aren't worried about his ability to hit lefthanded pitching. It's just a work in progress.

Holy overreaction man. No one is giving up on Carter hitting lefties but currently he doesn't hit them very well. Will he get better? We hope, but he's yet to record a hit against a lefty in the big leagues and barely batted over the Mendoza line in the minors.
