It's definitely you'd have to seriously consider, and a major negotiating point for a team inquiring.

But the only GM that does it anywhere close to how a fan would is AJ Preller, and he's awful.
Yeah, CY will have a gut feeling on what to do in July. Baltimore was a little too conservative last summer when they had a real shot. They had a solid winter though. I hope CY is conservative in July. When Josh Smith has been your best player through 2.5 months, you have to realize this might not be your year.Flounder Dorfman said:
CY is always looking to improve the team. That's his job.
You're kidding yourself if you think he is close to giving up on a 21 year old that was lights out in the playoffs and has been trying to play through a back injury that now has him sidelined for at least a month. Why would he do that?
Your trade proposal just sent out your starting CF and top pitching prospect (whether you like him or not) for a very talented outfielder that can't stay on the field. That is not improving your team. That is making the window smaller.
OR... if your players are playing so poorly that Josh Smith is your best player and you're still at about .500... You have a real chance to win it all again*.South Platte said:

I'm not saying he's giving up and Carter or even Langford for that matter. I am just pointing out that we could use someone to help this team THIS YEAR, and maybe next year, if the team is still in the hunt. Just my personal opinion, but I think we rushed Carter in a major way and that he needs to spend some time at AAA figuring his swing out, especially against lefties.
