In terms of injuries, especially with the starting pitching, you sleep in the bed you make so-to-speak. We hitched our wagon to old veterans that have insane injury history, so I'm not really that surprised we've got a bunch of starts on the IL.
They'll have him as a starter, but I do think when he comes back this summer that he'll need to hit the ground running at whatever level they stick him at. He's already 24 years old and has barely pitched in two+ years.
Haven't a clue if our situation is worse. I know Yankees have six starters on DL. But every MLB team thinks they have the most injuries in baseball.
Every team in the AL except for Seattle and Kansas City has 18+ guys on the DL. It'll catch up with them too.

Bullpen is way too thin due to all of these injuries.
Can't blame pitching at this point. I don't expect the pitching staff to keep opponents to 0-2 runs every game. The offense needs to score.

What I find most annoying about this is that this started because a pitcher who had been cruising (Lorenzen) finally buckled a little bit when his pitch count got high, thus forcing a risky reliever into a high leverage position

Most people probably assumed we could still beat the Rockies / angels to help stay afloat while reinforcements arrive, but going 1-5 against the angels and Rockies Isn't going to get you anywhere but top 10 in the draft.
