Overall, I thought Leiter was about what I wanted to see.

His line isn't going to look pretty, but he wasn't as bad as it looks.

I liked seeing him battle and get settled in. I think it is something to build on.

They'll likely send him down soon and we'll see him again mid-season. He could also become a trade pawn.

Not watching, so I'll trust your judgment that he made a bad defensive play. But he's a pretty solid player for cheap and he's almost never injured.

The issue with Leody is that idk who else is going to play CF and make you feel confident they can do it at a big league level. Carter hasn't been great in the field either, and then you throw him in CF? Yeesh.

Yes, but again would he be better than Leody in CF? I'm fine with taking leody out of the lineup because he's a black hole right now, and thus playing Carter in CF is fine with me, I just don't think we'd be better defensively, but I'm willing to sacrifice that.

I don't know how they compare, that's subjective. But a couple of years ago in the minors he was voted the best defensive CF in his league, so....

Carter's natural position is CF. He's very good there defensively.

Taveras not making a play like that when it would have prevented two runs immediately and a third on the next batter while he is struggling to stay over .200 at the plate does not help his case much at all.
