Other than the fact that they should have had 3 outs like 6 batters ago….

I seem to recall a similar Dodger game sometime in about 2017. Here's hoping the ending is similar as well.

Teoscar is a FA this offseason, is he too rich for what the Astros would be trying to accomplish? OF with some pop and a decent eye

Didn't Seattle ditch him because he struck out too much? Chas and Jake can fill that role for us for much cheaper.

Chas and Jake also don't hit dingers or drive in runs….

To be fair, striking out on 3 pitches is 3 times as many pitches seen as grounding out to short on the first pitch

Dave Roberts has to be a wreck this morning. Hopefully the Pads close them out tonight.

Is Dave Roberts the worst performing coach in the history of postseason sports?

12 straight years in the playoffs and the only ring was the COVID year. It's been a great run but they can't finish.

I'd argue that discipline and trust in your lineup are huge factors. You have to trust your lineup to have good ABs and your players have to be disciplined at the plate. Way too often are they chasing stuff way out of the zone. And I'm not talking about stuff just off the black but sweepers that start on the outside black and end up a foot into the other batter's box.

It's been nearly a week since the season ended. Why haven't Cintron and Snitker been fired yet?

I know one thing.

Watching highlights of the NLDS games this morning and damn we Astro fans need to get our shlt together.

Both those stadiums are absolutely electric with incredible energy. I don't think I've ever seen MMP remotely that rowdy for a ALDS game.

I wonder how much of that has to do with entitlement and/or expectations. I heard a lot of people say they weren't even considering going to the playoff games until the ALCS or WS. Great reminder this year that nothing is promised.

I agree though, watching the Padres crowd last night I haven't seen that at MMP in a while. Not since Yordaddy hit the big homer in 22 against the Phillies.

Yes I absolutely think that's the case. We're spoiled.

The weekday afternoon start times had a lot to do with it this year but even in years past the ALDS games seem to be pretty low key compared to what I saw from last night.

It also helps when the guys int he box are launching upper deck dingers but man the Stros haven't had that kinda energy at a playoff game in a while.

Maybe that's one reason our home playoff record sucks.

Alds games I went to were pretty exciting in 2017 and 2018,, but it got to be routine that we were in alcs/ws every year, so their novelty wore off

Not to mention buying that many playoff priced tickets and beer really adds up.

Our fans got spoiled, which is a bit understandable. You could see it with WS ticket prices being lower each year from 17 to 19 to 21 to 22.

It also doesn't help that we get absolutely screwed with game times every year. I haven't bought tickets in the presale for ALDS games in years because I knew they were likely to be midafternoon weekday games.

Our ALDS game times have been a big factor IMO. Not the only reason, but it's hard to get that "electric" at 1:00 in the afternoon vs. 7:00 after the crowd has a chance to get charged up all afternoon. We've also been at the pinnacle high of winning it all, so there's naturally a little bit of letdown for an ALDS game.

I think we've played a division rival once in the ALDS during this run. Just something to consider for both NLDS, but there is always a country club element at MMP. I went to Game 2 last week, and the attendance was fine IMO. Fatigue set in with the fanbase eventually during this rollercoaster of a season, but that goes for the players as well. They didn't execute, bottom line.

I hope this organization has a plan moving forward besides just reloading for next season because they've lost something since 2022.

Unfortunately a lot of Houston sports fans will always value football over baseball, so maybe some of the support has shifted back to the Texans.

*I forgot about Oakland in 2020.

Sounds like a full time job. He should just stick to that and let somebody else be the Astros hitting coach.
