Ouch. The Rangers are in that group.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of d-bags.

Seattle and SD too. Sucks to have picked the wrong dog in the race.

Seattle is not a Bally network. Also, they had long owned the majority of their network so they saw all the issues first hand.

We are on the same boat in terms of not getting enough tv revenue. Only with us, the owner owns the network. There was an article a month or so ago about the league paying out extra to teams who were underpaid on tv revenue, and we were on the list asking with all the diamond teams.
I know MLB and NFL are 2 completely different animals, but if MLB truly wanted to create competitive balance, they would take over the broadcast rights and distribute the revenue evenly among the 30 teams. I know the Yankees, Dodgers, and Red Sox would never go for such a plan, but the regional sports network model and the accompanying blackout situation does not exactly lend itself to making the game accessible to fans.

Yep, Seattle is the last remaining Root station isn't it?

I find it interesting that Scott Servais didn't make that list...anywhere.

Even Ausmus made a cameo. And Servais was no Ausmus behind the dish.

But just like us, if the Mariners don't start winning it won't really matter. I doubt Boston is going to catch them.

My bad. I guess I wrongly assumed Seattle was part of that train wreck.

Yes branding wise and Mariners own it 100%. From the Rocky Mountain network (previously AT&T SportsNet and before that Root) the Rockies are working with MLB for distribution of the games, Vegas Golden knights went with an over the air broadcast group as did Utah Jazz. The Boston RSN took over the Pittsburgh network including the Pirates and Penguins. Those were former Root nets.

I think ultimately, it is the goal of MLB to take over all broadcast rights and offer streaming options without blackout restrictions. You are right there will always be some holdouts.

What a line for Kyle Schwarber tonight: 5 for 6 with 4 runs scored, 6 RBI, and 3 homers including a 3-run bomb in the top of the 9th to give the Phils a 10-9 win over the Fightin' Guperfidos. He also homered leading off the game

I watched that game. Orioles scored 4 runs with no hits that inning.

The previous team was the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics, who went 36-117 and were 5-47 in June/July.

Man. We broke KC didn't we? They are now the 6 seed. They still have a 4.5 game lead on Boston but the way they are cratering that's far from a sure thing.

A's get out of trouble in T9 with a strikeout/caught stealing DP.

Going to the bottom of the ninth tied at 2-2, Rooker leading off

I view him as shoring up middle relief for the last couple months of the season. Will say he's performed better than I thought but yes doesn't feel like an October guy
