We are on the same boat in terms of not getting enough tv revenue. Only with us, the owner owns the network. There was an article a month or so ago about the league paying out extra to teams who were underpaid on tv revenue, and we were on the list asking with all the diamond teams.
I know MLB and NFL are 2 completely different animals, but if MLB truly wanted to create competitive balance, they would take over the broadcast rights and distribute the revenue evenly among the 30 teams. I know the Yankees, Dodgers, and Red Sox would never go for such a plan, but the regional sports network model and the accompanying blackout situation does not exactly lend itself to making the game accessible to fans.
