I keep thinking we're talking about Craig "Ironhead" Heyward

Big shoutout to the 1987 Raiders' tackling coach.

So now Tucker is a bad teammate?

Cmon fellas...
Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Most likely he isn't. Nobody on the team is publicly going to say anything or it'll be something like "Go get your bag, bro." But a lot of players on the team are giving 100%+ and playing a lot more than they normally would and I'm proud of them since we've made a massive run with the help of these players. I believe we have others who are more gamers and would be out there right now. If Tucker is sitting out to avoid risking his future contract when the team docs think he can play, shame on him.

The organization probably knows what's going on and we are left to speculate. Sounds like the organization is trying to push him along and think he should be back. They held him out for a few days, then put him on the 10 day and so on and so on, but we have no idea what the real issue is. If his leg is broken, just tell us, spill the beans. Otherwise we have situations like this where he's losing goodwill with the fans.

End of season is 33 days away

Gotta factor in at least a week for a rehab assignment?

Then there's the question of getting back timing and shaking off 'rust' when facing MLB pitching again

Really doesn't look like Tucker will be back this season and looks like team v player have different views on what he should be doing

No bueno imo

If he started a rehab assignment today I would guess he could be back Sept 10. But hes nto close to that. And the SL schedule ends Sept 22. In a couple of weeks hes going to start to run out of MiLB places to rehab at.

Dubon has slumped to .639 OPS

13 walks in 344 plate appearances -- that is quite terrible for a mediocre hitter

Rafael Ramirez used to say "You don't walk off the island." Although Honduras isn't an island.

Yeah, but Dubon wasn't picked up out of Honduras by an MLB team. He was invited to go play HS ball in California by a missionary group that saw him play.

Why send him to SL?

Just send throw him out there in the lineup and let him find his feet.

Rusty Tucker can't be any worse than Chas

That's what I've been saying for a while now. His tune up games will be FAR better than what we're getting right now. I don't want to hear about Tucker going 2-4 with a double and a homer for SL thinking "s***, we could have used that tonight."

also seems like the logical move, Wexler of the A-team speculated he might not join the team until the KC series.

Treadmill walk->treadmill sprint->run basepaths->rehab assignment is the process I've heard

You need time in between to make sure he's holding up and doesn't have a setback

Thought it was just his leg, didn't know his feet were a problem too. Explains a lot.

This is good news, if true. He is worthless as is, so let him reset for a couple of weeks and hope he progresses. Not a deal breaker if not, just leave him there until spring and see if he fixed his ****.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

I'd be shocked to see Ted strikeout anywhere close to 35+%.

Yup, as long as he takes the pressure off himself and just goes to ball, I think it will be beneficial for him.

A couple of things:

1. You really need to listen to MLB ballplayers talk. Their support of each other is not lip service most of the time. They are probably the most union players of the major sports. JV is one of the biggest in that regard. They really do believe in setting up the market for themselves and future players. Plus, MVP caliber players have A LOT more leeway with teammates than you guys think. If Tuck is loafing a bit, which there isn't a reason to believe he is, I don't think any of them feel very slighted by it.

2. I 100% believe his leg is not broken. I believe the organization is being honest that it's a bone bruise. I do think there is a difference of opinion about rehab between Tucker and the organization. Seeing what has happened Lance and Luis, I might not be the most trusting of the Astros team doctors if I was Tucker.
