Oakland is playing relaxed with nothing to lose.
I just want to stop to appreciate that a franchise that's actively trying to lose can slug up and down the lineup and the Houston Astros have become Yordan Alvarez and eight noodles.

Of our normal OF rotation (considering Alvarez as DH) the highest average is Joey at .240. That along with Singleton's recent woes at 1B, this is a team struggling to put something together. Still convinced they're going to win the division but goodness they're not making it easy.

He's 7 away from his career high in strikeouts with over 60 games to play, and just eyeballing it it looks on he's on pace for his lowest walk% rate since his swinging '15s.

His OPS+ is still great, albeit at the lower end of his numbers for this past decade of sustained excellence (129), but it seems like he's scrabbling for hits in lieu of walks and has lost some power of late.
