.725 is comfortably above league average this year due to the run environment, but tonight was the poster child for bad sequencing. We had plenty of base runners but not great approaches to drive them in. The early sac bunt could have led to a run or two but no execution in the 8/9 spot.

It would be easier to take if the Astros had bothered to show up. This is a bigger problem than this game, they have way too big of a habit of losing focus
You're completely correct, but also, there's nothing fun about the complete and total uncompetitive, listless no-shows. And way too many of this team's losses are of that variety.

Hadn't seen it posted but according to quick google x-rays on JROD's ankle came back clean. He was out of the lineup today but Servais said they hope to have him back soon. Glad to see it wasn't more serious.

Pretty clear there was a team meeting following the loss. Servais did not mince words with the media. Called the ending brutal and said they gifted that win. Said the team needs to constantly be on the attack and go out and take it. Not seeing that.

Aledmys Diaz is a byproduct of the farm having no mlb ready 1B. We have an abundance of OF, but no one at 1st. Is it so hard to find someone to play the position?

Manager can't write a lineup with the last 3 names being Dubon, A. Diaz, and McCormick, and then tell the players they need that killer instinct.

I get not making a deal until leverage is maximized (for sellers), but it has been damn near malfeasance from the front office to roll with Arrighetti as part of a four-man rotation for the length of time that it has been. He had a great game, and the team went on a roll, but you're losing ground to what could have been every single day by having to rely on relievers and pushing pitch counts for players not accustomed to this load. The team needed two starters the minute Verlander went down.

Just not a fan of last night's right hand heavy lineup against a guy who has reverse splits, both in the majors and AAA. I would have kept Chas and Diaz on bench in favor of two lefties.
