Honestly, I kept waiting on him to "return to norm" last year but he never did. He kind of got hot at the end of the previous season and never really let up. I wonder which is the real Chas?

Guy has some serious demons. The blogs he put out toward the end and some of the responses from the other barstool guys back at him were tough

He's been in the tank literally since the day the news story broke about him and Dusty being at odds. September 8th or 9th I think.

It's a lot mental with him right now and wouldn't be surprised if he just needs a change of scenery

He seems to be doing better now that he's no longer working for them. I hope he can find enough continued success to keep going in his own

The article stated they had evidence he was betting but not on baseball. The guys who took lifetime bans were betting on baseball. The players suspended a year were just betting. But MiLB players don't have the same kind of union and resources as the umpires.

If Pressly comes in a run scores and it's a save situation and Hader pitches anyways.

Everyone ecstatic to see Abreu in the 8th and not Pressly. We'd all be flipping out shlt if Pressly came in in the 9th.

I've posted something along these lines multiple times -- but he can be beloved and a great teammate and still stress the heck out of his teammates that legit want him to be successful. Both can be true. And I still contend that having a good guy be really bad is harder to deal with than a jackass that is bad that everyone wants to get sent away. This team doesn't need the added pressure of playing tight because they feel they have to be perfect to stick up for Abreu... they are professionals but it's still hard to separate and they all could see with their own eyes he was not going to get it done. I think it's a pretty massive psychological debt to carry that is now fully shed.

He's one of the most liked and respected guys in the entire league. The whole situation was tough on everyone.

Abreu was only with the team for a year and a half

was the clubhouse distraught when Yuli was let go after 7 seasons?

I get he isn't the long term answer at 1B. But we don't have a long-term answer on the team right now and there's zero question in my mind he's better than anybody else we can put over there.

And if not that he certainly playing better than Chas this year.

I'd love to see us use him like we used Marwin in '17 where he plays nearly every day at multiple positions.
