Trading Tucker is about as committing to the rebuild is as possible.

Trading Tucker is about as committing to the rebuild is as possible.



They are likely not re-signing him this offseason. Playoffs are out of the question. Why wouldn't you trade him?

It depends what you can get back for him. If you can get someone's top prospect outfielder as a part of a larger prospect package that's on the cusp of making the majors, then maybe you don't.

This is my thought but the Phillies aren't a fit for that. The Orioles (Mayo and Hjerstad) or the Twins (Lee, Rodriguez) make more sense.

I just never know with the pirates. I'd like to think they aren't that stupid but they are very poorly ran.

I mean they could possibly get multiple mob ready guys in return and some younger guys. It would probably take a multi team deal

I don't think they would but it wouldn't be all that crazy if they did.

Skenes' value will probably never be as high as it is right now and given the injury bug we're seeing nowadays and his violent mechanics it's probably just a matter of time before he's on the operating table.

Schwarber would not be an upgrade over anyone on this team except Abreu.

Schwarber would not be an upgrade over anyone on this team except Abreu.
As a hitter, he's better than everyone but Altuve, Yordan and Tucker. Meyers has been better this year but I'd give the track record to Schwarber. Bizarrely for a slow guy he's actually an above average baserunner.

Really the question is if you think he can play 1B (sucked there in his last experiment with the Sox) or Yordan can be an everyday LF.

I don't see his mechanics as being "violent." In fact, he looks really smooth and controlled for having the kind of velo he does. It helps being 6'6" 245.
