Minus Abreu this is as solid a lineup as you can build without Tucker.

I assume they're using Pallante as an opener since he's always been a reliever?

Yeah, I don't see an issue with it minus Abreu. About as good as you can draw up without Tucker.

I've heard the Astros linked to him as well but only that they had interest. Not sure how serious or if there's been an offer made.

Edit: My bad... I had Crochet and Kopech mixed up in my brain. Kopech is who the Astros have been interested in.

I don't see his mechanics as being "violent." In fact, he looks really smooth and controlled for having the kind of velo he does. It helps being 6'6" 245.

He's 31 and only signed through age 33 season. He's a short term bat plug, not someone you build around. You're only acquiring him to partially offset what you lose from Tucker in 2025 while acquiring other assets.

It's also a money thing. If the Phillies want Tucker and a reliever (Pressly?) then that $25M will need to be offset somehow.
