Not sure. But I just remember this thread's sentiment was that crane was dicking around and going to **** up the easiest, best, and obvious choice in espada by taking so long and over complicating it.

A while back ago Espada kept saying the team needed to play with some urgency, yet we haven't seen any urgency out of him. A little fire here and there sometimes does help the team. Especially having the players back when the home plate ump is making horrible calls.

I thought he was the answer but it appears, two months into the season, he may not have been the best choice.

Who would have been better? Don't know. I'm left underwhelmed by Espada.

I think this team needs someone like Tito who has pelts on the wall.

A lot of these players have their own pelts so I'm not sure they'll respond to with someone who hasn't achieved what they have.

Someone like Tito and even Dusty to an extent who has a track record and can resonate with these guys.

Espada who very well could be a baseball genius just doesn't have the track record that garners attention from a team full of guys who've won a lot.

This. Makes me wonder if they had conversations before hiring espeda with other veteran managers and during those conversations they asked for more control, etc and either crane/dana said no or they saw the writing on the wall with crane/dana/Bagwell that they wanted no part of it. Hence, hiring espeda because he was a yes man and knowing he wouldn't turn down the job.

This does really make me wonder now, talented team that has had a good run lately and we couldn't pull someone. Weird
