He doesn't have to play if he's on the roster. He can sit over there next to .330 avg Dubon.
That's what makes this all the more comical
We are coming off a winning streak, and in the most important series they not only bring Abreu up, but they start him in both games.
I do not believe that this was anything other than Espada's decision, if true. There wouldn't have been any stipulations to play him. And if Espada doesn't get to construct the lineup like Dusty did, then he's just a powerless yes man and we deserve to lose to show, once again, that Crane is NOT a good active manager for his baseball team.
Yet Espada screws with our momentum and plays the new pet, who we all know is no good, showed no signs of being good while he was in Florida, yet suddenly "HE'S BACK!"
This isn't a surprising result. A truly intelligent manager would have selectively used him, probably not during this series at all, but in future game series when we have a commanding lead, and maybe platooned him against lefties on the odd start to see how he does.
He's the worst ******* WAR in the majors and a big reason why our team is garbage. He can't defend. He can't hit. He can be embarrassed ALL he wants collecting the next $40M dollars on a permanent vacation back to Cuba where he belongs.
