Why pitch Ronell versus Oakland? Lots of whys this season with very little clear rationale.

The Abreu double start is an absolutely head scratcher that makes no ****ing sense what so ever. It's pretty incredible when he leaves the wins start piling up. Comes back and the team sucks again.

This team is mismanaged. You can see it, and the players can, too. Every roster move is a **** up. Think how the players truly feel. It's hard to perform without having multiple Corky's (owner, GM, manger, etc.) running this team, and when you, as a player, are probably questioning every move as well.

This team just looks lost, as people have said there's definitely no vocal leader in that clubhouse and you would expect the manager to at least step up and have his players back but not even that. Like I said we are definitely seeing why Espada hasn't been a manager before, this team has too much talent to be playing like this. Something is going on in that clubhouse that is not being addressed and from the looks of it nobody will.

Can't fire the guy who let Click go after winning a title, sadly.

But they can go ahead and fire Espada if he was the one really making the call to throw Abreu right back in the lineup AND ON THE FIELD two nights in a row.

You forgot "numb-nuts special adviser", but I see where you're going with this, and I support it.

The problem is, and I've said this before, I think the front office has no problem keeping Espada around because they wanted a puppet they could push around and make do whatever they want after the tension with Dusty. I fear Espada will stay around and will take the punches for all the stupid front office decisions because he's too pacifist to make a stand for himself

No fire. At all. This team is a reflection of its manager. Espada doesn't fight for his guys or this team. It's evident. He should have gotten himself tossed after that bull**** with Pena and the fair/foul ball. Why fight for a manager that won't fight for you?

Is the org smart enough to know they can't play Abreu in the lineup at home this weekend? That man is going to be boo'd into oblivion

when Abreu allegedly "agreed" to go to West Palm Beach

I think the terms were dictated to the Astros how this was going to go

or he would have refused the demotion and forced the DFA

If Abreu and his manager really have the team by the short hairs, the FO is even more incompetent than any of us can imagine. Script the down, script the up, sure I can buy that based on what's been reported here. No way the first 2 starts vs the division leader after making up tremendous ground is a non-negotiable part of that deal.

If Espada isn't writing the lineup card, he should throw an absolute fit with the media. Might get him fired but so is this kind of performance. If he is writing the lineup card, fire him anyway.

I'm hoping Abreu does well. I'd love to see him turn it around, and I'll cheer for him.... BUT he needs to do it with a different team.

José Abreu could not field a 95.7 mph ground ball with a .200 xBA, Alex Bregman threw away another hit at 60.6 mph, Yainer Diaz had a costly passed ball and the Astros now trail 4-2.

Espada is a pu $$ Y! He won't stick for his team for some BS calls, that would have had Dusty ****ting his Depends over. 100%, Espada/Brown are yes men, pushovers and just what Crane wants in place. And you wonder why the players aren't performing? They have beta men "leading" them and they aren't buying into this.

Abreu sucks. Espada sucks too.

He doesn't have to play if he's on the roster. He can sit over there next to .330 avg Dubon.
