I didn't listen until the last inning. How do you guys think Julia did in the booth?
I just heard her homerun call of, "Say goodbye to that ball, y'all!" I mean, I've heard much worse.

Strong disagree here. I love Bagwell's stories and insight.
Just my two cents but I didn't think she was very good. Sounded very nervous and unnatural. She got better as the game went on which I'll give her credit for. Love Julia- but that's just my honest opinion. Hope she stays forever in her current role which she kicks ass at.

Good morning to everyone but Oakland, all five #Athletics fans and @ABREG_1 doubters. It’s about to be a really bad year for you guys if the proverbial switch has been flipped. In the meantime, is there anything better than an Ozzy🦇 medley to start your Tuesday? #Relentless🤘🏼🔥 pic.twitter.com/SSQJkW1j2U

love bagwell as the third guy in the booth, when tk and blummer still doing their jobs. bagwell as the color guy? not so great, imotexasaggie2015 said:

1-3 inning Julia was terrible. Super nervous.
6-9 inning Julia was solid. I enjoyed her calls for big moments.
I think if she put the work in and got a shot she could do it a fairly high level.
She's already better than Jessica Mendoza.
Jose Altuve has the slowest bat speed on the Astros among qualified hitters. In MLB, he’s ranked 190.

BUT Altuve’s swing length is the highest on the Astros and 17th most in MLB. For a 5’6” player, that is incredible and leads to more power.

Agreed. I can't imagine how hard that job is and PBP guys do that for years at every level from HS on up on radio before getting TV gigs.texasaggie2015 said:

The first 3 or 4 innings were combinations of dead air and awkward plays calling. She was trying to call the game and track plays in her book and I suspect she was overwhelmed. She lost the ball several times, which I think is completely natural given she's not used to seeing the ball flight from that vantage. Blummer did a good job of covering for her. It would have gone better if they swapped roles in the middle third like the radio guys do. Give her a chance to settle in and take in the big picture.
It got better the second half. I think she ditched trying to call the game and fill out a playbook at the same time.
I will say with 100% certainty she did better than I would have.
The Astros played the most difficult schedule in baseball across the first 40 games of the season. The next 17 games … will not be the most difficult in baseball. An opportunity to gain momentum and climb out of a hole is here - https://t.co/ClGCr8jLgC

If we converted 6 of the 8 blown saves, we'd be at 24-19 right now and leading the division.tjack16 said:
If we had just avoided sweeps we would be 19-22 right now and battling for .500 this week. Those first 3 weeks loom large but hopefully we keep the hot streak going
