He's not starting, for some reason they chose Jake over him
(I will continue to hate on Jake because it's working)

Two quick comments since we're in the middle of a game:
Maybe Bregman back at cleanup is because of guys having days off yesterday and today?
Didn't everyone rave about Espada's communication in Spring?

José Urquidy said his next rehab start should be Saturday with Double-A Corpus Christi. Urquidy said he thinks he’ll only need one more start to build up to about 70 pitches before he’ll be ready to rejoin the Astros.

Chas McCormick said he tested his hamstring running out a double in his first rehab game yesterday and was moving well. He expects to play the next two days with Double-A Corpus Christi and play the outfield at least one of those.

Obviously not too early to scoreboard watch, while we get the A's, the Rangers play the Guardians, and the Mariners play the Royals.
Time to make some hay
Cristian Javier will start Thursday’s series finale against the A’s, Joe Espada said. Hunter Brown will start a game against the Brewers this weekend, Espada said, so the Astros are in a six-man rotation.

Big facts here. I just made the move from walking distance to MMP to the Galleria and won't be attending nearly as many games as years past.AgSportsFan89 said:You aint gonna work down the street forevertexasaggie2015 said:

That's one way to look at it. The other way is you are on a winning streak, and your presence could help guarantee a win.The Porkchop Express said:I'm not spending money to see Spaghetti or Brown get lit up.EastCoastAgNc said:Cristian Javier will start Thursday’s series finale against the A’s, Joe Espada said. Espada said José Abreu is "doing well" and getting six, seven at-bats per day in West Palm Beach. He's facing live pitching.

I love having this data at our disposal now.

With that said, I am being cautious with how I interpret some of this data without first learning more about it. Very exciting, but also a learning process.
I don't think that most people want him to fail. However, from my amateur opinion it seems like the sample size was large enough already to say that there's not much that he can add to the team. I'd love to be wrong....texasaggie2015 said:
Come on guys. Some of you genuinely want him to fail and it's obvious. I will never understand that line of thinking.
6-7 ABs against live pitching per day is a good amount. Plus hours of work in the cage and on the fields.
He's working his ass off. It's really sad what he's gone through. I hope he figures it out and contributes down the road.
