One thing I remember from the Luhnow / Hinch / deep analytic days is players immediately going to the dugout and getting with coaches or other players and looking at Ipads or whatever. Did those get banned from dugouts?

Regardless, people say this team follows analytics. From what I've seen, we might on a cursory level (everyone does some form of it), but I haven't seen anything that indicates we are doing the things we did that got us to be one of the most dominant teams in baseball, nor are we staying ahead of the curve. The entire strategy from the owner down to the manager seems to have shifted to complacency. Other teams might be killing our pitchers and getting critical outs in key situations against our hitters because they have more deeply studied us than we have them. We have zero plate approach. Our situation hitting is atrocious. And the manager operates on a "well he's always been good so just let him do his thing" managerial style.

If you ask me, we lost our edge and now don't have anyone in place to hold guys accountable.

Raising girls is awesome! I have three of them. Of course, I don't have any experience raising a son to compare it to. And time does fly, so enjoy every minute of it.

Congrats! I have two daughters and I love them and they drive me crazy. One loves baseball and watches with me and goes to games with me every chance she gets. The other hates sports but watches ball with me, too.

P.S. I hope you've rested up the past few months because a good nights sleep is a thing of the past.

Congratulations! Best news so far in this thread. Hopefully she brings the team good luck! Sleep as much as you can, nap when she is napping cus sleeping is going to be time of the past, my 2 year old boy is somewhat finally sleeping the whole night. Our sleep is getting better but still wishing, wanting, and hoping he finally sleeps all the way through!

What can you tell me about the Rockies? I have no idea. Nolan Jones strikes out a lot. They've actually won 2 games this week. Kris Bryant is the NL equivalent of Jose Abreu, former MVP on a fat deal who is currently sucking balls. He's hitting .149, but at least he did his team the honor of going on the DL.

Our youngest graduates high school in a month. Exactly why I posted "they grow up fast" on the Aggie game thread. It's unreal how the days are long and the years are short. Soak it up. Every minute.

To make it Astros related: you never know when the window closes and the dynasty is over. One day you'll wake and be playing .300 ball a month into the season wondering how the heck did this happen?
