Remember they started out super hot in 2022 and then played below 0.500 ball the whole second half (and more) of the season.

I was just referring to why new stats keep popping up. On base is better batting average. Slugging is better than on base. OPS is better than slugging. Weighted runs created plus is better than OPS and so on.

Rob Neyer and others (Bill James?) some 20 years ago (after OPS was well established) looked at OBA times SLG. It was a much better predictive measure but it's not nearly as easy to calculate plus it leads with some zeros that nobody likes (.300*.300 = 0.0900) so it never took off.
