I know that everyone feels a sense of urgency to act because of the team struggles, but I am concerned with how quickly Chas is back to fighting for playing time.

Frankly, I think Meyers has been fine as well, but his ceiling to me is lower than Chas to begin with.

In the case of Chas, I am not trying to sugarcoat how awful of a start this has been, but I also feel like he is a proven competent player. Like many, I was never deluded into thinking he was the .900 OPS guy he was for much of last season, but we have seen enough to know that be can be a plus bat with speed and three position versatility. It would be a big mistake to give up on that quickly, ESPECIALLY with Tucker 1.5 years from free agency.

I agree. Chas needs to get that hammy 100% then get plenty of PT.

Between Chas, Jake, Joey (hopefully), and Yordan they should occupy 99% of LF & CF playing with Yordan at DH and Joey at 1B as well.

Curious as to yalls answer but who is a prospect you were dead wrong about? Could be good or bad

I thought after about 2018 or so that Tucker was just all hype and wouldn't do much. Definitely didn't believe he'd be what he is today.

On the flip side, I fully bought into the Korey Lee and Derek Fisher hype.

Also jury still out on Pedro Leon but I was convinced he was the heir apparent to Springer when he signed

I must admit that I have been puzzled by the unwillingness to play Caratini at 1B when he has plenty of experience there and has played well in his limited playing time.

To me, I understand more the reluctance to DH one of your catchers when only carrying two, but you can always move a 1B behind the plate if needed.

And a backup catcher doesn't need the "time off" from playing the field.

Puzzling to me.

I still don't understand this. Like why are we still keeping Singleton at 1B when he have other options with a better bat. Anybody really know why, I'm confused.

Also, is it just me or does it feel like we have a different OF every game?? Like no consistency for Jake or Chaz or are they just matching the players with the opponents pitcher?

After JJ Matejevic hit 2 homers off the Yankees (one off of Gerritt Cole), I thought he was the future at 1st. So much for that.

It's always pretty special watching someone get their first MLB hit - hope we get to see Joey do it tonight!

Palm Beach provides the opportunity to face live pitching as often as the youngsters there need to throw bullpens. He can get a lot more simulated at bats there than anywhere else without impacting anyone's chance of winning.

The outfield carousel has definitely surprised me so far as I thought a lot of that would leave with Dusty.

Dubon is a reliable player and a heck of a utility guy to have. He has also delivered some clutch hits with RISP in a season where they have been hard to come by. At the same time, he is what he is, an athletic, versatile player who is a singles hitter with limited pop. Again, very valuable on the bench and as a stand-in starter, but not someone who should be time-sharing with Chas or Meyers. In fact, I would argue his best usage is to get 1-2 starts each week at 2B and let Altuve DH.

Chas has the highest upside due to a real bat.

I think we know what Meyers is as well - a .700-.750 OPS CF with plus defense, which is someone you should feel great about starting everyday and batting ninth. You also are prepared to pinch hit for him in a late inning situation if you have a better option.

To me, Chas is an everyday starter. He should start in LF in all games in which Meyers starts in CF, and start in CF on days in which Yordan players LF.

I get that they need to commit ABs to Loperfido now that he is called up, but most of those need to come at 1B, not at the expense of a quality player, especially given the dearth of alternatives with Abreu's demise.

If Meyers, or even Chas, ends up being a cog in an important trade, then so be it, but for now Chas needs to be playing every day and Meyers needs to be starting the majority of games.

Things are happening, good

Next need to get Javier back

Hopefully the Cleveland series is the last that Arrighetti and Brown both pitch in

Arrighetti has impressed me. He's not ready from a spot in the rotation this year, but I think he's really, really close. He's had some bad first innings, but he's buckled down after that. His Braves start showed me a lot about him. Once he figures out how to get MLB hitters out when they have 2 strikes, I think he can be really serviceable.

At this point, if you're keeping one of Arrighetti or Brown up though, without moving Brow into the pen, I'm more inclined to keep Arrighetti up.

If you're going to move one of those into the pen, Arrighetti goes down and Brown goes to the pen.

Rendon yearly injury was on schedule. Trout's yearly injury came pretty early this year. His trade value is plummeting.

I still think they are missing a marketing opportunity. If they shirts with "Space Cowboys" and "Gansters of Glove" on them I'd buy one.

All players names on the back of the jerseys should say "Maurice"

Not yet. He's needs 4-5 more years of near peak play.

Altuve checks in with a 1.010 OPS for April -- with 1 game left in the month

a walk and a single tonight will probably keep him above 1.000 for the month

interesting...in May 2022 and May 2023...he also posted a 1.000+ OPS

might be on his way to a huge first half of the year

Mark Appel- woof. He was filthy at Stanford and some thought he'd be in Houston within months.

I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.
