My logic:
It is more likely to beat the Mets when they have an incentive not to try or play key players than it would be to win a WC series without Sale, Schwellenbach, Morton, and no Fried and Lopez until games 2 and 3 unless they go on short rest.
This isnt rotoball. Its win or pack up your locker time. Pull this move and lose and you are out of a job before the custodian sweeps up the first kernel of popcorn off he floor after the game.

And with all the pitches on the Mets and Braves pen, both are screwed for game 2 if needed and tomorrow.

What a disaster by the Braves. This may have been the worst loss of the season.

Of course the smart move is not to use any high leverage pitching.

On the other hand: 1) Who would they rather face in the first round the Friars or the Brew Crew? and 2) Do they hate the Braves enough to want to keep them from a postseason berth?.
