I just signed up for DTV stream a couple weeks ago. It is like $4 more a month but it does have TBS/TNT if that is important to you. I like the fubo set up better though FWIW.

I've had both, and stuck with DTV. As already mentioned, it's a bit more expensive, but the picture quality is much better. Did a little research, and figured out it was a Fubo issue, and not a network issue.

I know not everyone has Apple TV+ and nobody wants to spend more to watch games but their presentation is great. Great picture quality and the ability to listen to the Stros radio broadcast that is perfectly synced with the picture.

Agreed. It seemed to get better as the season went on last year.

I just hope the Astros do another promo to get Apple TV for free. Was able to use that to watch the stros and the final season of Ted lasso last year

Same conclusion here. The better picture quality is well worth the few extra bucks a month.

Thinking about dropping UVerse, and signing up for Direct TV. We're in Cypress (NW of Houston).

Anyone know if SCHN is available on DTV?

Could be a dealbreaker if it's not.

I think DTV is a good product, but storms will cause issues at times. If you pay for DTV, they have a great app that streams most of their channels.

Depends how crazy it is. Astros fans will line up for hours and hours just for bobbleheads and new gear.

I tried the Apple+ trial for one of our Friday night games and I recall there being technical difficulties for the game. I remember not being able to hear the local radio call like they advertise. It was just crowd noise. I must have had the outlier bad experience, but it soured me entirely from it.

They're sleeping on Dombroski, Loperfido, and Gomez (not even in it)

True, but less folks will show up at a Specs for Roy Oswalt I think.

Gomez has a long way to go physically (he's young and still growing) but all the tools are there. He had an injury that kept him out of action most of last year- but they're being patient with him.

Edit to add: I've been told Johnny Damon is a good comp of his tools

They now offer DirecTV Stream which is essentially the same product without the satellite dish. Having the service cut out because of rain is what always kept me from considering DirecTV until the Stream option became available.

storms really aren't an issue anymore. They seamlessly allow "continue watching" and switch to their streaming feed. It's only an issue for DVR

Probably a question that's already been answered, but is there a place online to listen to a radio broadcast of today's game?

I absolutely love the Apple broadcasts, sometimes the commentary can be meh, but otherwise its been top notch

NET WAR last year & projection - We lost 4 guys that total 0.2 WAR. A backup and a reliever (notorious low WAR position) and we're still in the top half. A lot of addition by subtraction.


Rangers, Twins, and Os are all near the bottom after winning their division or getting close. This doesn't account for the Os trade. I guess Rangers and Twins were satisfied with last year and didn't want to get better or even stay as good.

I really like the DBacks and Royals offseasons. And the Cards might be a sneaky AL Central pick.
