Ichiro was a player "out of time" so to speak

his numbers back in the 1970's and 1980's would have looked and played much better

but in the 21st century with the emphasis on power, home runs, and advanced metrics...his stats leave something to be desired

in 2006...he had 224 hits...which looks great...but it only resulted in an OPS+ of 106

in 2007...he hit 6 HR's in 678 at-bats...that would not work in today's game

he only had 5 years with an OPS over .800

Of course not. I'm obsessed with baseball. I grew up on sports center, baseball tonight, SC top 10s, web gems, etc. But I can evaluate outside of really liking a player. Biggio is my all time favorite. I wanted to be just like him on the field. Doesn't mean I can't recognize his flaws.
