Crane and Bagwell are dealing with contracts and free agency.
Bagwell ain't dealing with shlt. This narrative has been shot down multiple times over and there's nothing to indicate it's true. He's probably chillin in Cabo throwing back tequila shots on his fishing yacht.

Eventually this is gonna blow up in Crane's face, but I hope that's many years down the road.
Heard this before too and it's yet to come to fruition. The train keeps rolling.

Honestly WGAF who does what as long as a winning team is being built and top end talent is coming in I couldn't care less. Only TexAgs can make the addition of one of the most dominant BP arms of this generation a negative.

Just win baby!

When I started reading this discussion on who gets credit/blane for the Hader deal, I was going to joke that I couldn't wait until it gets blamed on Bagwell if it goes wrong

I didn't even have to wait for that to happen! Texags is already on that bandwagon.

Never change, Texags!

Maybe an Austin Meadows reclamation project? Based on what Brown recently said about offensive addition it would be via trade?

when I see videos like this and articles of former players and Current hall of famers talking about guys who deserve to be in and aren't, it pisses me off even more we have fat, out of shape baseball writers in charge of this prestigious honor. It actually is rediculous.

Well I guess that should have been our clue yesterday that Dana had anything to do with it. He specifically said in the press conference's opening remarks that he "had to talk to Bagwell on it".

No, but that's a nice 4th, 5th type starter who'll eat up regular season innings.

If he stays healthy. He's got a bad track record and dodger pitchers in general have a bad history. That's a bad combo.

Meadows has missed a bunch of time for mental health issues the last 2 years. Not trying to belittle that by any means, just have to know that you may be signing someone who could miss significant time.

Wagner is at 78.4% with 55.5% of ballots known to the public. It's gonna be tight, but I have a good feeling. I think he ends up around 77%.

Edit to add: It could be a big year for the Wagner household if Billy gets the call to Cooperstown and Will gets the call to Houston for his debut at some point

IIRC, he did poorly with the non-public ballots last year. Hope he sees a similar improvement rate with those.

FWIW- Crane handled 100% of the Hader negotiations. He tends to step in and do that when there's someone he wants.

Not entirely sure how I would feel about that if I was the GM.
FWIW, supposedly Drayton did the same thing with the Carlos Lee signing. When Drayton heard Carlos was a rancher on the side, he stepped in and signed him to a too long contract.,.

I actually trust Crane and both his business judgement and to some extent his baseball judgement.

In 2023 Wagner was at 71.3% of public and known private ballots. He finished at 68.1%. If he sees a similar drop, it'll be so so close.

Wagner has received 14 of 16 new voters. May come down to the people no longer with a ballot and whether they voted for him last year or not. It will be very close. Leaning no right now IMO.
