I would say hell no.

3 prospects (arguably your top 2 plus a starter that might be MLB ready) for a guy whos good (potentially great) for just 1 season. Plus he's getting paid like $24 M.

Neither side would say no to that...But Dana would say 'Hell no'.

I'd prefer to only carry one CY caliber pitcher who is overpaid and can't stay healthy on the roster.

Yep, hell no. We wouldn't extend him so that would be a massive waste of what little prospect capital we have

An espn article discussing what moves every team should make. Just a guy spouting off opinions for signings/trades/extensions that each team should do.

His big ones were Dodgers signing Ohtani and Severino and Mariners trading for Soto.

Zero chance I'd trade top prospects for Glasnow who has the injury history of LMJ.

His full seasons he has been an ace. 2021 LMJ was great.

I'd kill for a full season of him again.

A- Altuve, Oswald, Biggio, Bagwell

B- Wagner, Wynn, Cruz, Cedeno

M- Spiers, Doran, Sambito, Berkman
(This is Marvin's personal favorites list)

Springer, Correa, Bregman, Morgan, etc needed more time in an Astros jersey.

Can't believe I found no room for Dierker or Scott… how did that happen?!
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

Makes no sense to lose prospects and pay big dollars. That kind of defeats the entire purpose.

I'm sure he wouldn't get picked in the rule 5 draft, but Asa seems like a guy the rays could pick up and run with. Once again TNSTAAPP

Ultimate Offseason Topic - Astros Mount Rushmore.

Who are the most important, best, influential, statistically impressive, etc (however you define it)?

Here are the rules:
1. Pick 8 Players. 4 for your "A" Mount Rushmore & 4 for your "B" Mount Rushmore.
-2 points for A, 1 point for B.
2. Must be at least 1 pitcher or 1 position player meaning it can't be 4 pitchers or 4 position players.
3. Do not pick more than 8.

I will tally up the scores in a day.

Bump for today. I only have 8 votes.

Personally my Mt Rushmore has 3…more could be added later maybe but for now a fourth is distant.

1. Altuve
2. Biggio
3. Bagwell

1. Nolan
2. JV
3. Bregman( according to future signing and production)
4. Wynn/Cruz

If Bregman leaves after next year his spot would obviously be lost. But hard to compare active players to previous players who had a full career.

This makes Seattle worse. Saurez plays a good third base. He was league average offensively last year but was a little on the unlucky side. He's entering his age 33 season and was still a 3 WAR player.

Vargas is a relief prospect with okay stuff and no control. Zavala is a back up catcher.

This is what I was alluding to when I mentioned there would be a lot of changes this offseason in the player development and scouting departments.

For better? For worse? That remains to be seen.. but the majority of folks I've spoken to don't feel great about making big changes to a system that's produced a lot of big league talent in recent years.

I've been MIA for a while so I have a lot to catch up on. I've been battling the worst flu I've had in my life over the last week or so. I felt like I was dying.

The Astros are very much in on Yariel Rodriguez and Yamamoto. Is it likely they land one of them? Probably not and I don't expect them to. But I've been told Crane is willing to go over the luxury tax (or whatever it's called) for the right move. I can't say what defines "right move" but I'm thinking along the lines of a player that would move us from contenders to favorites.

Dana is working the phone and discussing both trades and free agency. Moves will be made. He's motivated to make a strong first impression in his first offseason as GM. I can't speak to whether the moves will be big or small- but they're discussing both.

What else did I miss?

I think they have a good shot at Rodriguez if they want him. Won't break the bank and the Cuban connection is obvious. Also have to think playing for a contender is appealing to him.

I need this shirt in my life. "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"

That is my favorite episode after Johnny Fever and Venus Flytrap testing their drunk reflexes live on air.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.
