The more I think about this trade, the more it feels like the Rays just fleeced the hell out of the Dodgers. I wouldn't be shocked if DeLuca is straight-up better than Margot next year. While Pepiot doesn't have the stuff that Glasnow has, he's been productive in limited innings. He's another Javier type.

As I type this I check baseball trade values and it agrees. Dodgers get 10.3 while giving up 30.1.

As someone who deals with people who have suicidal thoughts as part of my job and have had family who have attempted suicide…. People that post about it and talk about it on social media typically just want clicks, attention, and a pass for poor behavior. Those really struggling do so in silence with outcries only to a few selected trusted people. Her behavior is classic deflection of blame. I hope she learns from this but highly doubt it.

Good for the Rays. The last 3 postseasons were probably disappointing for them after it looked like they might take over the AL for a bit. As far as teams that like to trade go, at least they're not slimy like the Mariners.

Look, I don't want Leah Vann to kill herself and anyone telling her on social media should really rethink their lives.

BUT... Astros fans have a legitimate reason to be mad. Why should we have a person who openly hates our most beloved player covering the team? I think throwing out there, you made me want to kill myself for airing your legitimate grievance with me is a complete cop out.

Astros don't win the title in '22 without Framber, but it seems unlikely we get the same guy again even in a contract year. I don't see him being traded either, but maybe someone REALLY wants him.

Good post. I have my own familiarity with the topic and tweeting that out in the midst of seeking pity is very unfortunate.

You cannot be a public figure of any sort, even a small-time reporter with a Twitter account, if online randos can drive you to voicing suicidal ideation.

All of this because she ****posted on Twitter like a typical /r/baseball user and couldn't walk it back like an adult. If I were the Chron, I'd be looking at a critical mass of public behavior that would lead me to think I can find a more professional candidate for this role, completely irrespective of Astros' fans feelings.

I was thinking that the Royals are quietly putting together a team that could compete in the AL Central. Cleveland is down. The Twins aren't that great. The Tigers still have work to do, and the White Sox are about to go rebuild mode.

Degrom, Max, and the new guy all not pitching. The ring in 2023 makes it easier to swallow but that's a lot of money sitting in the training room.

That was the big issue when they signed all those guys with lengthy injury histories.

Based on their AAV that is around 63 M in pitching not going to be available for most of the season.

I think Neris will be too rich for what we want to spend on him. He'll probably get 1/10 or 2/15+. I think we'll be more bargain bin shopping.

As for Maton, he was fine. I think we will be more likely to trade for someone with more control we believe in as much or more. His level guys can be acquired fairly cheap.
