I know we're all on the high of beating Houston to take the AL pennant, and you gotta celebrate the good moments when they happen, but man I want this World Series so bad. In my opinion it's the hardest championship to win in all of sports and you NEVER know when you're going to get this chance again. I want to finally be able to put 2011 to rest in my head.
I just wanted to verify that Nellie Cruz is indeed still retired...right?
I believe you are correct. I feel so bad for Nelly sometimes. Had an incredible 2011 ALCS and career with the Rangers, and we all still can't get over that one play.

He's our Bill Buckner.
Come on dude. You're comparing a weak ground ball to a guy that was a marginal hitter vs. a laser off the wall. Cruz had 8 home runs and 16 RBI in the playoffs. He and Hamilton carried this team.

Other than getting caught for juice, I've got nothing but love for Cruz.

Just talking about his whole career being defined by one f up in the World Series. I love me some Nellie too, but that's the top bullet point on my mental resume for him.

They had some good seats in the sale but you had to be quick. Also had some obstructed view they put on sale.

They've also been dropping some the last hour, so don't give up hope... just give up your working day

SRO ticket that was $150 at issuance going for $500+ on seatgeek. They should pass a law that disallows re-sale of tickets until they day of the event.

Too much money in the resale market. There's a reason MLB partners with SH and Seatgeek. It's a cash-cow.

I can't find this shirt (or anything really) anywhere in Aggieland. Still plenty of "West Division Champ" gear though... frustrating.

If anyone sees this specific shirt in stock in a large anywhere around B/CS, let me know so I can head that way!

Academy isn't stocked up? Got that exact shirt today at Academy in Denton. They had lots of stuff.

Nope. And the dude I asked has to be an Astros fan. Told me "There's probably some online", and acted dang near surprised that I would ask "Y'all didn't have ANY in store?"...

Rally House had one left of the standard version you see on MLB.com, in a 3XL, and said they might get another shipment, but might not.

So thankful to finally beat the Astros when it truly matters.

After Game 5, I was not looking forward to being haunted by Altuve's Game 5 HR when they show highlights for the next 50 years.

Instead, we re-wrote the book and will be seeing Garcia's ALCS bombs for a long time.

Obviously wanted last night as much as the rest of you (maybe more... I was in St. Louis in 2011)... but win or lose last night I felt like that was one of the more epic series I'd seen in a while.

Pretty soon they will be taxing for the income generated.

Nadel just had an extended interview on MLB network. Didn't get to catch much of it. But it is always great to hear him discuss the Rangers

Trying to do the Saturday game, then Cowboys on Sunday.

Would be a great weekend if I can pull off tickets and everyone wins.

I was at a bar that was playing music during game 5 so I actually went back and watched the highlights just to hear anything I may have missed from video only.

I have never and WILL never rewatch anything from Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS. Takes a special kind of demented person to watch.

As bad as it feels right now, it's even worse for the Astros. They have to win one of two home games now. They would much rather play game six in our stadium.

Having fun re-reading the last several days of posts. This one is particularly sweet!

Just finished this. That's a nice recap. With all the drama over Adolis and the last two games going so well I had forgotten Leody stealing that bomb from Alvarez.

Do you think that would raise prices or lower them?

If you followed the XBox and PS5 release it was crazy. You could flip those things for way more because people knew they had a limited window to buy the resale before someone with more money was willing to pay.

If you couldn't buy a G1 WS ticket until Friday... would you screw around if you had the money? The 1st or 2nd time you tried to buy them and "missed" you'd up your game quickly.

Mike Bacsik said today that someone tipped off the Rangers that Leclerc was tipping his Changeup by something he was doing with his mouth. They said they've corrected it, but apparently his routine for a Changeup was predictable.

Nothing illegal about it, so, I'm not claiming foul. You see it from pitchers. I'm not sure if he had a smirk response to being signaled a Changeup, or if he would go to his mouth with his hand to add moisture...

That's the way baseball should work and is common. Glad they figured it out.

Players today are allowed some level of sticky stuff. You see the hats. You see pitchers use the hat touch almost exactly the same. Any variance would signal to hitter.

Bascik was also talking about Montgomery and the Ownership... how they decided to spend.

He said Montgomery probably went from FA signing of 4yr/$20M (after regular season) to 5yr/$30M (now if he stays healthy through WS). That's along the lines of what I've said (or I probably don't mention it ), although I'm probably higher than that.

He seemed to think the Rangers are likely going to be "in" on the bidding.

Last post for a bit, but... the Rotation for the WS is likely worth considering the opponent, but likely looks like:

G1 (Fri): Eovaldi
G2 (Sat): Montgomery
Off (Sun)
G3 (Mon): Max
G4 (Tue):
G5 (Wed): Eovaldi
Off (Thur)
G6 (Fri):
G7 (Sat):

Our Home games are Fri/Sat.

Related because it deals with potential opponents.

From ESPN.com

"This is baseball at its best. Sure, games are always binary -- win or lose -- but Game 7s offer a twist: win or go home. They're not uncommon, exactly, but they are rare enough that the Phillies, who played their first game in 1883 and have played more than 20,000 games in their history, have never participated in a Game 7 -- until now."

Thanks for posting that. I skipped past the games in Arlington. Huge moments in the first 2 games: the Carter catch in game 1 where they doubled-off Altuve. Game 2, bottom of the 5th, bases loaded, nobody out - 2 Ks and a Bregman ground-out to get out of it without giving up a run.

Cool bit of trivia that I am certain has been posted here before, but Nolan Ryan only gave up one walk off homerun in his entire career. Who hit it?

That would be one Bruce Douglas Bochy.

If the Phillies win tonight, two teams that opened the season against each other will be squaring off in the WS. Not that it means anything, but has that happened before? I'm far too lazy today to go back and check the schedules for 26 years of inter-league play

That opening series gave us home field advantage in the World Series, proving unequivocally that EVERY game does truly matter.
