Best of 3. Win tomorrow and the Rangers are back in the driver's seat.

Well that was a pretty horrible loss

Shaping up like the Astros World Series versus the Nationals. Road team won every game.

That's fine if we win but that's a long ways away

Our lack of pitching depth has gotten the entire Astros lineup red hot. The season rides on tomorrow.

Again we let the Astros bullpen sneak out of a game with 6 innings and no runs. We got away with it in Game, not tonight. It's just not that hard to score runs against them. Urquidy was worthless and we let Stanek and Hunter brown beat us. You don't deserve to win if Hunter brown takes your lunch money.

Sad thing is we crushed the ball vs Brown

Then this is over. We can't beat them here. I said Astros in 5 in part because I knew we could split with them in the first two games, but we wouldn't touch them at home. Well, now, because of the road woes, we legit have a chance. They hate their home ball park. If we. An go down there and jump on them, they'll feel the pressure and hopefully lose. It's all we got.

1-8 vs the Astros at home
Outscored 81 to 40

3 Game series! Rangers need to find a way to win Game 5!

I don't know man. Their bullpen is the best I've seen in years. Like the Royals had in 2015. They are all outstanding, especially in the postseason. They have major experience, except for Brown, but he was pitching with a huge lead. Stanek, Neris, Abreu, and Pressly are all legit.
South Platte

Neris is solid, Abreu and Pressley are very solid. Hunter brown stanek and Maton are not. That's 12 innings of scoreless ball. Come on Rangers, get it in gear.

Something else we're doing wrong.

Seems like all of our home runs or big hits come with nobody on base.

Because our plate discipline sucks ass.

everyone is trying to hit it out of the park. No one working the count.

It's all hero ball right now.

We need to get back to working the pitchers, waiting on pitches, not chasing, and not thinking one swing will tie it up.

It's just dumb gorilla ball at the plate, with predictable results.

We hit the ball hard a lot tonight. We weren't finding gaps and had some terrible luck (Seagers rocket and the batting glove, missed 3rd strike call on the corner)

In truth, we don't have the pitching staff to be here in this situation so if you take away the disaster of the last 2 games I'm pretty content with the opportunity ahead. It would be generous to say that we have 4 relievers (Leclerc, Chapman, Sborz, Stratton) and even then not a single one of them are shut down guys. We have 2 starters that we feel comfortable with, had to bring in Scherzer last night for a glorified rehab assignment, and basically had a bullpen game tonight.

I think Bochy has done an incredible job with this group, maybe even one of the best in his career given the roster and circumstances. The entire season rides on tomorrows game so let's see what we can do

No doubt. We are deep into the ALCS. Who would have guessed?! With this injured pitching staff and lousy bullpen. With our 2 best pitchers going in games 5 and 6. We are RIGHT THERE. Even if this goes sideways this weekend - what a year, what an amazing surprise.

Just really hurts losing to that team with those fans. I mean half of the Astro fans barely even behave like humans, they're freaking Neanderthals.

If so, at least we made it. 13 other AL teams are jealous of our position. We won 7 playoff games in a row. We will have plenty more cracks at Houston.

They're no worse than any East Coast fanbase or the Dodgers fanbase. You hate them because of the interactions on here and the fact that they own us in our park this season. Nobody is worse than Philly fans, NY fans, or LA Dodgers fans, all of whom will kill you.. To my knowledge, that's not happened with Houston fans.

It doesn't matter what their record is in our park to this point. Win this one game and take your shot with 2 to get one in Houston. Win tonight.

With the Astros it's just different. I mean we all have co-workers, friends, maybe even family members who are fans of the Astros because it's a team from Texas and the largest city in Texas.

That's another huge reason losing to them sucks so bad.

At least Philly, LA, and NY can be tuned out or ignored, due to distance or not a massive following in the state, but Astro fans are everywhere here.

I'm still cautiously optimistic. Rangers had the pitching advantage games 1 and 2. Astros had it 3 and 4. Now we will have it 5 and 6. Verlander is still good, but not nearly as scary as he was even the last several years. Just need to swing at our pitch and not wildly hack at anything just because it's in the strike zone.

Every game has been about who sets the tone early offensively, and the rest of the game just follows suit. Need to be aggressive but smart at the plate today.
sburg2007
How long do you want to ignore this user?
My biggest concern today is that we did not exactly light Verlander up or put a bunch of traffic on the bases. The script can easily be flipped today between he and Monty if our bats are chasing high fastballs they cannot catch up to.

Looks like Seager and Semien started to get in a groove last night with some hard hit balls. Those two have to lead the team and get on base. If they can continue to hit the ball hard, they'll find some holes. Seager had the line shot right at Abreu last night that doubled off Semien, thanks to the batting glove. I hope to see some more hard contact like that tonight.

Not necessarily the case, especially with how they play at home and with Framber still scheduled for their first game back in HOU. Just as hot and cold as our offense can be, they can really turn the switch on and score 10+ out of nowhere. The boys just need to be more selective chasing pitches and be ready to punish the middle middle pitches they've just been watching.

Them not winning at home is as much a monkey for them. They redid their CF wall a few weeks ago, to try to fix their issue.
