The way I saw it, the throw was up the line a bit, and Heim had to do a swipe tag and the runner was already by him. It was a strong throw, but up the line. If the throw is on the plate, runner wouild have been out.

Heim caught that ball right before it hit the ground because you don't want to catch it on the short hop. Garcia needed just a couple more feet on that throw and Heim would've caught right on the runner's body.
