The only guess is that Bochy thinks he's playing 4D chess, and if Tampa brings in a lefty to face Seager, then he'd have Grossman in the 3 hole to protect him... but that strategy would ignore the first 3 at bats of the game where he's likely to face a righty and be the black hole that he always is.

Or as mentioned, he might have nudes of Bochy.

We have hit the point where I can safely say this roster wins despite Bochy's roster moves. No idea how he is as a leader or "recruiter", but the bullpen usage and now lineup decisions is just void of any actual strategy.

To be honest, we haven't paid it off yet, but some good at bats so far and some hard hit balls. Time to bring back our sequencing skills from a few years back
