Wow - Heaney only at 68 pitches? Bet he fights like hell to stay in the game as long as he can - try for a complete game!

There's no infield fly rule on pop ups in foul territory

Man we suck at the small things. Get a runner to 2nd with no outs and consistently fail to get him to 3rd on the next AB.
He is actually at 127.2fc2112 said:
Heaney pitching like a guy with $8 MM on the line.
He's now at 130 1/3 IP. Might get another 1 or 2 tonight. Get 5 more starts to get 19 2/3. Can't suffer any short starts from here on out.
His PC has been trending 80/GS for quit some time.gigem1223 said:

I don't think that is the case. I get it... the Rangers have money on the line, but I don't see Bochy as one that would play that game. CYoung doesn't seem like that type.fc2112 said:gigem1223 said:

$$$
Specifically with Heaney... We talked about this in July, IIRC. I couldn't cherry-pick/slice stats to find anything this season... 3rd time through the order... PC... that gave me a clue to substantiate limiting his PC. It has been limited and has been consistent and IMO, intentional. Rangers must know something. They may see something like a drop in velocity, that gives them a hint that Heaney is about to hit trouble.Bizarro Jerry said:
I'm trying hard to understand Bochy's decision to pull starters who are pitching well when they have 70-80 pitches and knowing our bullpen is statistically one of the worst in baseball. This has been happening all year.
The only thing I can think is he's trying to control the psyche of our starters and keep their confidence high.

Like tonight's game, he had a couple guys on base and appeared to be headed towards trouble. Now is not the time to see if he can work through trouble, IMO.
