There are a number of rookies to look at and a number of ways. I start with HRs, because that sorts out players that may not have been active. I shortened names to try to align stats:

Pitchers have won ROY, but you usually have to be over the top.

I think position has to be considered. Diaz for Houston being a C. His GP leans towards C over DH, but not isolated to C.

I included Volpe and Yoshida. Yoshida has indicated he did not think he should be considered, because of his age and experience in Japan. He got lots of early buzz, and being in Boston... and Volpe in NYY, you can never count them out.

Casas made a huge push in July but has fallen off.

Personally, I think anyone can still win. Jung has a shot, but it will be hard to get attention the rest of the way.

Never really believed he was who he was playing as. He plays a good CF, but he's historically a .250 or so hitter who's going to strikeout quite a bit.
