I like the idea of Perez moving into a long relief role if only because I don't have such a give up feeling on the days he's scheduled to start.

I think he has a lot of value there. Mop up duty for sure to save the bullpen. Basically take Bradford's role until Bradford is added back in September.

I knew Anaheim adjusts their rotation to suit that guy that will be a FA who won't become a Met because they told Scherzer they are not taking any big FAs, which is why I was skeptical that it was them.

They're just crossing off the off speed pitches because he hasn't landed them. It's going to take some time with Scherzer I think. His velo seems fine and that's a good first step in my book. Next will be landing his curveball for a strike again, because that's the pitch he's struggled with this year.
