I think if the call stands you should retain your challenge. If they can't tell then it's not reasonable to punish the team for challenging the call.

Also, looking at the replay call of safe at first that was upheld, it looked like Lowe's foot may have come off the bag with the reach for the ball.

There are other angles.

The elevated angle from the first base side camera appears to show the sole of Lowe's cleats move a touch away from the bag when the ball is bitting the back of the glove and right before Rosario's foot hits first. Again, just my thought.

Rendon is 33 and owed $38M for each of the next 3 years and in his 1st 3 seasons with LAAA he has played a total of 148G. He is currently on the IL with a shin contusion with no real known time to return.

If LAAA packaged Rendon and his $115M owed over the next 3 years with Ohtani, what else from the Rangers farm would you throw in?

I would think Josh Smith and Justin Foscue would be sufficient. Maybe too much.

Halos would get $38M in flexibility over the next 3 years.
The Rangers would lose flexibility in 2023. We'd add $38M of potential dead weight. We would have the ability to move Jankowsik and/or Heaney/Perez. If we moved Heaney, we'd reduce 2024 by $13M

Yeah, unless this ownership group is willing to break the bank to keep Ohtani AND keep other players as well then I have zero interest in bringing him in.

If you're trading for Ohtani, you're automatically throwing your hat in the ring to sign Ohtani and have to be willing to back up the brinks truck. You've got to at least try to get him to come back.

That being said, I don't think the Rangers would be in on resigning him because we would completely fly by the luxury tax threshold. I think ownership is happy just below it.
