I love how they keep talking about it being a bullpen game. Truth is, our "bullpen" guys won't be the ones throwing. It will be all the other starters we accumulated throughout the year cause everyone was hurt.

I hear ya but there's absolutely no way you don't give the ball to Scherzer tomorrow. This is exactly why you traded for him. I fully expect him to be much better than game 3. Plus Heaney has proven he can be effective out of the pen if/ when he's needed.

I would agree with you on Smith for sure. I think he's just so much older, I don't think he's got any time left to straighten it out.

I don't think Max would ever actually come in for relief with the way he has to prepare for starts. Literally doesn't talk or look at anybody before the game haha

WS starts on Friday, so you could go Eovaldi in G1 and if Monty throws tomorrow, he could still go Saturday on normal rest.

Scherzer has been really bad out of the pen in the playoffs in the past. Its either start him or dont pitch him tomorrow.

I think some of yall are overthinking it.

The Rangers traded for Max Scherzer for one reason. To give him the ball in Game 7. Injury and rust don't matter. He's the bulldog you want on the mound.

That said, he'll have a tighter lease than Game 3.

Game 3 was the rehab start, this game its exactly like you said. You start him and maybe he can go 6 or 7. But you are ready to get him after 3-4.
Feel like we are going to have to get after them early and into their bullpen

Late responding. On point. Coached kids for a couple of decades. There's tremendous value in youth sports if done correctly. Baseball is a game of failure. My kids are accomplished adults because of baseball. They've experienced failure countless times. They are grinders because that's what being successful at baseball requires.
